THE VISIONARY YOUTH
VISIONARY YOUTH
Text:
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions - Joel 2:28
Introduction:
Vision always centers on people rather than on projects, programs, properties, or profits (Hab 2:2).
Quotes:
Great people stand out from others by their visions and not much by their intelligence.
Good leaders have vision and inspire others to help them turn vision into reality.
Vision Focus
Vision focused on anything other than people is ego driven exploitation.
Question of Vision - Vision answers the question:
1. What do God wants me to do? - Question of clarification of the purpose - (Habakkuk - Hab 2:1); (Saul - Acts 9:6)
2. Where could it be done? - Question of location (Paul) - Gal 2:2
3. When should I start the work? - Question of Timing (Paul - 14 years after) - Gal 2:1; Hab 2:3
4. How can I make the world better for others? - Question of Impact/Fulfilment (Gideon) - Judges 6:15-16
Clarity of Vision
The clearer the vision the greater the vitality.
Vision vs. Hope
Hope creates and energizes vision. Separated from hope, vision is futility. Leaders without hope are lost, along with everyone who follows them.
Faith to carry out the Vision
Faith gives you the conviction that your purpose will see the light of the day – Hab 2:3-4
Visionary Youth
Visionary Youth is someone who thinks about the future or advancements in a creative and imaginative way.
A person who is ahead of his time and who has a powerful plan for change in the future - Joel 2:28
Qualities of Visionary Youth
1. God chaser - Psalm 42:1-2; Isaiah 26:9
2. Available Vessel - Isaiah 6:8
3. Burning Heart - Psalm 39:3
4. Passionate – Psalm 69:9; Rom 12:11; NIV
5. Sensitive Spirit – Ps 62:11; KJV = God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.
6. Prophetic Power – (Your Sons and your daughters shall prophesy) - Joel 2:28b
7. Open Vision – (your young men shall see visions) – Joel 2:28c
8. Intelligent Risk Taker – (Esther - Esther 4:16); (3 Hebrew Boys - Dan 3:16-17); (Gideon - Judges 6:25-27)
9. Spirit Filled - (Last days Youth - Joel 2:28a); (Wise hearted Youth - Exo 28:3); (Jesus - Luke 2:40); (Disciples - Acts 2:4); (Ephesians Church - Eph 5:18)
10. Empowerment of the Visionary Youth - Rom 1:10-13
Conclusion:
Vision without impact is a vain exercise.
The visionary youth must of necessity tap from the grace of those who had gone ahead of them.
Impartation sets you ablaze to be burning for the kingdom course.
After the impartation, you have the obligation to fan to flame the fire you received – 2 Tim 1;6
Let us Pray!
Zech 11:1 – O Lord, let your fire consume strangers in my soul
Psalm 39:3 – My inner man, catch the fire for Kingdom exploits in the precious name of Jesus.
